Location:  Huntersville NC

Elements: This family room was part of a large project involving the family room, kitchen, living room and a hall that runs the full width of the home.  This was a challenge since an existing "direct vent" fireplace had to be removed along with a window above it. Then a new gas fireplace with chimney had to be installed, together with new windows on either side of the chimney.

In addition, lighting soffits were installed to give the room a warmer lighting in the evening, and cultured stone was used for the chimney and a hearth that runs the full width of the room.

Cost:  This was part of an $85,000 project involving remodeling the kitchen and living room (see elsewhere in this website).

Completion Time: approx. 8 weeks for the entire project with multiple rooms.
