Scope of Project: Outdoor Family Area

Project Manager: Art Blanton

Location: Glen Eagles area of Charlotte

Elements: Add rear open porch with barrel ceiling, construct stone fireplace.

Builder’s Perspective: The desire of the customer was to integrate an existing open brick paved porch into a covered outdoor living area beside their pool. The 12’ tapered columns were not only decorative but functional in supporting the roof system. The tongue and groove beaded board barrel ceiling is beyond description. To the right of the porch is a stone gas fireplace with gas lanterns and stone sitting bench wall.

Attentive and critical management of this project was essential due to the very close proximity of the in-ground pool and the existence of numerous sprinkler, landscape lighting, and  swimming pool underground lines. The rear yard provided very limited space for storage of materials and working space for equipment. Fortunately, we never let any construction equipment go swimming.

Cost: In the low $ 90000.00’s.

Completion Time: 12 weeks
